Reading; it's probably one of our most important and used life-skills. Let's face it, you're doing it right now! Reading has to be taught, it is not something we can teach ourselves. If your child is struggling to read, let Eloise develop their phonics fluency and get them started on their reading journey.  Once we become proficient readers, the educational focus shifts towards comprehension. After all, what's the point in reading something if we don't understand what we've read? Eloise works with fluent readers to develop their ability to successfully and independently answer literal, evaluative and inferential questions.

Everything writing... whatever level your child is at, there's always room for improvement. Focus areas include;

• sentence construction and grammar,

• sentence-structure, vocabulary and cohesion of writing,

• genre and applying structural frameworks, and

• engagement techniques to make their writing POP! As well as,

• persuasive and narrative writing

Some people say Maths is hard. Eloise says that's baloney! Maths is all about building upon concepts, one after the other. If your child is struggling in Maths, let Eloise find and reteach the misconceptions, as you watch your child's confidence soar. These fast paced, highly engaging 30-minute sessions target your child’s number fluency and improve their confidence across all mental maths concepts. Each session covers a mixture of times tables, quick addition and subtraction, long multiplication and division, money, telling time, fractions, area and perimeter, and much, much more. Whether your child is of primary or high-school age, advanced or in need of extra help, the lesson content is always adjusted so they’re always improving.

With a maximum of 4 students per lesson, students feel supported and scaffolded yet have the responsibility and accountability to participate and learn. In short, Eloise ensures these lessons are fun and makes mental maths easy.

These fast paced, highly engaging 30-minute sessions target your child’s understanding of all things English. Our main focus will always be sentence up-levelling; that's jargon for 'improving our sentences'. Students need a chance to practise their writing, a chance to play around with sentence structures and a chance to add in new, interesting vocabulary to make their sentences POP! And that's just what these session will do.
Give your child the opportunity to focus on individual sentences, understand how to improve them, and apply this learnt skill to other areas of their writing. There's always room for new vocabulary, so whatever their ability level, your child is always improving.

If your child is already a good reader, Eloise's focus shifts to reading short texts with her students, whilst discussing the meaning and content within. So whatever the level, your child is always improving.
